DetailsThis ballpoint pen is a tribute to the princely Medici family who for three centuries had a close relationship with the city of Florence. Public and private power passed into the hands of the descendants of this prestigious family, from the pater patriae Cosimo the Elder, mentioned in the head that alludes to the well-known headdress of the prince, through Lorenzo the Magnificent to the Grand Prince Ferdinand.
MEDICEA is a pen made by hand in precious black resin with elements in 24Kt palladium bronze with covering red enamel on the head. The enamels are made with unbreakable and scratch-resistant materials. The 24Kt palladium plating is nickel free. Being the pen handcrafted the final product may differ slightly from the picture.
⚜All our writing instruments are handcrafted in our studio in Florence with traditional methods and techniques. Only a few people know that the first Italian fountain pen was built in the early 1900s in Florence by a goldsmith; we’re honoring such heritage with this new collection of ballpoint pens.
🎁All our pens are shipped in their gift box and are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by ourselves (designer Valerio Salvadori and master goldsmith Marco Frangini). The ballpoint pen includes an international standard ballpoint refill with gel ink (Schmidt, Germany).
